Bikepacking in the Sierras?

Anyone done any bikepacking the Sierras? Planning a trip leaving out of Reno in September.

I go up that way and do a couple long weekend trips (3ish days) each year. Any specific questions? At that time of year, I would say absolutely be prepared for snow. We got about 6" of snow overnight when I was up in mid August a couple years ago, and the storms move in amazingly fast.

I've done some bike packing around the Bishop area through lower rock creek and little lakes valley. It was during the summer and even though Bishop sits at about 3000' elevation, the temp reached over 100F. My advice would be to bring lots of water and also be ready for the weather change if you plan on climbing to a higher elevation. I camped in front of Long Lake on the John Muir trail..around 10,000', where there was snow and the temps reached the upper 30s at night.
