Campy V3 hood installation....ACK!!!

OK, I just ripped my third hood. I've watched the video, I've heated them up, I've lubed them with Windex...

I've done this 1/2 dozen times...why now?

Use pedros bike lust, then clean off with alcohol.

Or just use alcohol. Not denatured alcohol- that will cause your hoods to rip. Plain drugstore alcohol. Pour a bunch in the hood and slide it on. Easy.

Lube with hand sanitizer.

Alcohol swabbed on the shifter body and inside the hood, and careful use of a plastic tire lever if needed. There is an official Campagnolo video, if that is not the one you saw.

I've been using small amounts of liquid hand-soap!

Did the hoods all rip at the same point?
Did it happen at the same location on the lever body?

What a pain. Had one rip last week as well.

On my second try I ended up taking the lever off the bar undoing all of the cables and installing the hoods from the base end. Not efficient, but no ripping.
