By far and away the way to go for me. Second choice involves green stripes (Vittoria Paves) but they're discontinued. Wish Vittoria made the Corsa Elite with a tan sidewall, but at that price I'm sure it's more work than they're willing to invest.

25mm SCs in tan currently glued up (also discontinued with the replacement Corsa G+ available in tan). Have 27mm Vlaanderens in the basement in the replacement queue. Also a nice tan sidewall.

Thanks. It was an original '77 that someone had braze-ons added to at some point. I rode it with 1st gen Phil hubs to Campy rims and full Superbe group. Great 531 ride, but the top tube was long for me so I let it go. It was a nice all day bike. More photos here (https://flic.kr/s/aHsjAxMLzw).

Tan sidewalls aren't necessarily "gum walls." Most of the tires shown in this thread are what we used to call "skin walls" back when "gum walls" were a thing.

That's better angry pal. I was gonna say...my Switchback hills compass tires looked great...for about two rides until it becomes "normalized". It doesn't bother me one bit. Fortunately for me, I really don't have a personal obsession for gumwalls, in fact they fall under the same category as handlebar tapes and fenders, you can have any color you like, as long as it's black. :D

I really liked the look of these older Vittoria. I used to put them on all my bikes. Now I use the Vittoria Corsa G+ tires but I prefer the graphics of these older model.

I think there have been gumwalls on 99% of my bikes over the years. It just looks right!

This bike was not ridden like this but visually im a sucker for steelbikes with flashy wheels .)
