Never trusted my China $50 fork and that worry was always lurking in the back of my mind.. so invested in a "name brand" fork.. cut the steerer down.. and there are big voids in the carbon lay-up.

This fork cost more than the entire bike. Very disappointing (and for the record, the china fork looks perfect when I took it all apart and inspected it!)

The manufacturer is sending me a replacement, but now I get to worry about a $400 fork instead of a $50 fork. :(

Happens. Even a company which has never had a frame fail in 30 years (their claim) can let this get past QC:

Just change the frame / fork every couple of seasons, like the pros do it. ;-)

That guy on youtube that checks wheels, chopps them, ect has a video where he chopped enve wheels that had a terrible layup and found out some chinese non brand wheels were much more perfect inside than the enves. Ymmv.

Hmmm maybe they were zipps, I dunno it was a big brand
