A friend was involved in a minor crash on a group ride and his Look Keo ended up like this.

Bond it back together with some sugru... and then launch it into the nearest bin!

ONe thing is sure, that pedal is 100% made of carbon.

My guess is that if it were 100% carbon it would not have broken like that. My guess is that there is carbon in the pedal but its in some kind of polymer or resin matrix. My sense is there was likely some small void in the pedal and either some impact or high load resulted in the pedal failing.

Pretty sure it is not 100% carbon

It doesn't take a crash to do that to Look pedals. I've broken 4, just by pedaling(Look Blades).

Super Glue - bonds in seconds!

No, this will fix it... put elmers glue and then you put a long wall screw from side to side just to reinforce the area, once the elmers glue is dry remove the screw and you are ready to go :P

the pedal is broken, no LOOK doesn't have a lifetime warranty. no one will be to blame for the accident, **** happens, replace the pedals.......... what was the question?

+1. we want crazy lightweight stuff and we expect it to survive a crash?

Same weight as the equivalent Shimano pedal and same basic construction. This was a crash not a JRA moment.

Y'all so cruel, nobody cares to ask how legend pal's pal fare coming out of the crash.... er... other than the pedals, is the rest of the bike OK?
