"Complex tear posterior body and horn of medial meniscus with associated para minisyle cyst extending along posterior medial femoral condyle"

This is in regards to a right knee injury sustained a month ago...fine when sitting, hurts to walk. So I have a friend in imaging lab who read this to me.

Called my chiropractor buddy who is very good and he explained it in laymans terms and said when I meet with surgeon next week he will probably advise surgery or PT. This particular chiro invented the hydroworx pool system for patients and athletes and advised me to go the pool/pt route and if that doesn't work, opt for surgery.

Anyone here have similar diagnosis and experience with this type injury?

I had the same diagnosis a little over a year ago and have went to several specialists to have my knee checked out. When I initially injured my knee it swole up and I couldn't walk properly due to pain for about 2 months. I slowly regained strength through PT and eventually learned to live with the minor pains during over exerted lateral and twisting motions, which I try to avoid as much as possible.
In the end, there's not much else that can be done to fix a torn meniscus to do the lack of blood flow. If there's a flap of cartilage, they might just cut the flap and carry on, but since it's a complex tear the procedure is likely more than just a snip and sew.

I've torn both meniscus medial posterior horns - about 1.5 years now. Dr suggested surgery but I didn't have swelling so an MD friend said if it doesn't bug you, you can wait it out. I didn't want them digging around in there, plenty can go bad. My main problem is I can't sit on my heels and some discomfort inside / medial. I know tons of people have had great experiences with surgery- so it's up to you, mine took several months to calm down, but I raced mtb the whole time since it happened --don't try to play hacky sack!!!
