i see fizik, specialized, and prologo have some sort of integration for clipping on a rear light. any idea which one is the best light? i'm fine with any of the solutions, but prefer specialized cuz their saddles fit me best.

fwiw, i'm using a planet bike superflash that i'm happy with now so that's my point of reference.

Lupine Rotlicht. http://www.lupinenorthamerica.com/rotlicht_mount_rail.asp

I linked to the mount but you can see the light in the YT clip. Mounted on the rails, it's out of the way and a little higher for better visibility. And you won't find a finer rear light.

Another vote for the Rotlicht

I like the convenience (I don't have to remember to attach it, it's always there) and stealthy aesthetic of the fizik, but it is nowhere near as effective a light as a PB Superflash. Better than no light at all, but just barely.

I have mounted this light successfully on both the traditional rounded and aero seatpost.

Holding steady over here with old faithful zip ties. The original mount snapped after a month. 2 small holes with a drill bit and we are good to go.

yeah, that was my impression as well. more like just going thru the motions.

does that lupine mount get in the way of a saddle bag? looks like it should mount a bit higher.

What's your take on the Blaze? I use one of their Diablos up front. Quality stuff.

Alas, it definitely gets in the way. It's designed to attach to the rails where horizontal, so only goes so far back. Unless you have a very small bag and a very set back saddle, it's an either/or thing.
