I have an Ibex that is maybe 10 years old. Love it and I wear it a lot. It is time to look for another (mostly so I can put it in my wife’s sewing pile to repairs some holes.)

I would like one that is good quality, does not shrink every wash cycle.

Thoughts?

Are you looking for merino wool? I'd recommend Kucharik (http://www.kucharikclothing.com/-c-21_26.html?osCsid=vgln6e3696tov1s22d6dcitg43) or Cima Coppi (http://global.cimacoppi.cc/men/wool-cycling-jerseys).

I received a Rapha Tri color Merino LS jersey for Christmas, and found it to be perfect for weather between 45-65 degrees F.

I think the Isadore brand is hard to beat:

Rapha Brevet LS, its a little lighter weight than their standard Merino LS jerseys.

Cafe du cycliste Yolande. this is it. perfect material, can snap the neck tight but unzip the chest. elbow pads are cooler than your rapha, zippers and reflective bits in the right places. this jersey gets most of my ride time, i even wear it dirty i like it so much. other jerseys i have are rapha brevet longsleeve (second best), rapha pro long sleeve, zanconato long sleeve, but Yolande gets worn 50 percent of my rides. id buy more but i think most sizes are out of stock at the moment

They make my favorite bibs (climbers bibs) and i want to try the LS jersey with the dots on it. really nice gear

Not sure about the "mid-weight" qualifier; my longsleeve jerseys all tend to fall into either the "lightweight" or "not lightweight" camps, but I would hesitate to think of all of the latter as "heavywight".

My faves are the Pearl Izumi Kodiak (which is a soft light fleecy jersey) and the ChampSys (don't know if it has a model name/#) that feels like it's made of rubber, yet is astonishingly warm, comfortable, and attractive.

Edit: Much as I love the Ibex company I hate their longsleeve cycling jersey. Or perhaps I just ordered mine three sizes too large?

The Assos Intermediate Evo jersey is really good, too. Has a windproof front panel and lightweight sleeves that works well in 50-65 degree range with t-shirt or sleeveless top, and could go lower with a long sleeve base layer.

Not made anymore, but still around.

I seem to be wearing the Rapha ProTeam jacket a lot in 40-60 degree weather these days, though. Like a nice slightly heavy-weight jersey.

I've ridden with a Wabi Woolens jersey for the past three Winters and its performance has been stellar. My go to jersey with a base layer and a jacket from about 50 degrees and down. I'm sure that it could handle higher temperatures very well. It's just that I seem to favor a vest and arm warmers when it gets above 50 degrees.

I can tell looking at them that they are high quality. The styles are a little plain but they do have one that I like.

Yes, got a pair of the climbers bibs, but haven't worn 'em yet. The dot LS jersey is quite thick, I think too much for florida "winters". I have an Isadore merino Signature short sleeved jersey. It is the perfect florida winter jersey: great for temps 50-70 degrees, then add merino arm warmers to take the usable temp down to 40. While the Rapha merino jerseysare well made, I find the fit and modern features of the Isadore products superior.

Generally, I'm not a big Specialized fan though I have a lot of respect for their bikes. Recently my local shop ended their relationship w/Spec and had all their clothing line on clearance. I picked up a long sleeve jersey and though it's not wool it is one of the nicest I have - and almost no logos. They also make a version in wool. I also picked up a medium weight jacket that is also very high quality. It's a bit too much for cycling here in SoCal but I use it for around town at times or to cold, morning rides. I liked those so much, I bought a lightweight, close fitting wind jacket too. And like them all.

I don't have the tags but think it was this one - mine in black:

+1 for the rapha brevet. Easily the most comfortable/versatile jersey I've ever owned. Big storage pocket to keep an extra rain or wind layer, nice pockets, reflective, and a chest pocket for your cards. So handy

Yes, that's a great choice with a really wide temperature range. But the current version has a $300 MSRP, which I think is over the top.
