the knurled adjuster on my drive side/rear adjuster seemed to have malfunctioned. Do I need to replace with a Shimano part or will some other manufacturer part work in its place? Or replace the whole thing?

Will one of these screw into the Shimano downtube stop?

Before you replace it, run a 5mm x .80 tap thru it. Many times the adjuster or the body have issues and need cleaned out.

Dang. Don't spend that much money on just the part. For half that I'm pretty sure I have and will send you a newish set. Not home right now but will check tomorrow if you drop me a PM to remind me!

somehow the threaded part detached from the knobby part.

I will take it apart tomorrow and see what's up.
