Saturday night on the St Louis Moonlight Ramble- more than 25,000 cyclist on a midnight ride- and a drunk driver hits three cyclists-

I was only two or three bikes in front of the first two cyclist hit- I could not have been more than 10 feet away-

To see the shear violence and complete disregard for human life- it was sobering. . .

This driver DID do this on purpose- he (she) floored the car just before hitting the first two the struck the third one fleeing the site-

again- I pray I never have to see that again-

And if caught, nothing will hapen to this scum. :crap:
A car is just as lethal as another weapon.

I'm glad you are ok !

we are vulnerable out there, aren't we? people when in cars, something less than people when on bikes. easy targets for most any fool.

glad for you and your family that you're not hurt.

my guess is that the driver (as reported in the article) got tossed out of a night club just a block away from where it happened-

the driver made a right turn (instead of a left) that took him onto the closed road that the bike ride was on-

This was right at the beginning of a hill- so the cyclist were going slow- before the driver knew what was going on- he was probably surrounded my hundereds of bikes- all going about 10 mph

the driver got tired of waiting and plowed through the people-

I have to be honest- I am having a hard time getting the sounds I heard out of my head-

Like I said- this was done on purpose- makes me sorta want to have 5 minutes alone with the drive-

to "Talk" about what he did-

I am glad that you are ok and that the people were hit were not killed.

hey dirt.. this is a horribly traumatic experience and what you do in the next few days is vitally important to your emotional well-being. talk about the incident.. here or in real life as much as you can so that you can integrate it and it doesn't go unprocessed emotionally and turn into something like ptsd.

to see and hear a horrific act of random violence is an act of violence itself. short term, immediate crisis counseling is a good thing.

sorry you had to experience that.

I agree with swoop.
Work it out for yourself like he said.
Glad to know you're OK, sucks you had to be involved. I hope the cyclists that were hit are doing well...

Listen to the doc Jason.

I hope the injured cyclists have a speedy and complete recovery. Non-life threatening injuries can be life-altering. Strength to their families.

Jason,

I'm happy you are ok, and sad that you had to witness this.

Blatant disregard for the lives of others, though not uncommon, never ceases to amaze me.
