On the IPWR. He inspired the **** out of me and seemed like a great and humble guy. I'm crushed.

If anything, he went out in pursuit of his next goal.

We should all be so lucky.

One of the best in the sport; he will be missed.

I have watched enough documentaries and videos where he was in it, this thread is making me really sad for I feel like I knew him. seemed like a great dude and what an athlete. RIP Mike Hall.

For the last few days, his face kept coming up in my Instagram. I'd see him several times a day. Kind of stuck with me.

And then I read this.

Really sad.

Same here. Whatever the circumstances this is such a shame and loss of a very passionate cyclist.

He was one BAD ASS cyclist. So sad. He'll forever be an inspiration to any cyclist who's aware of him. RIP.

WHAT??!?! I was just watching an interview with him this morning about him being overtaken by Kristoff.

Gosh darn it <since i can't type anything more emphatic without getting bleeped>

He looked totally wasted this morning.

Dude..

Such terrible, terrible news. A beloved Japanese randonneur was recently killed in NZ; it's horrible to hear about the deaths of any cyclist, but all the more so when they're so inspiring.

That's awful. Like a lot of people here, I got a sense of who he was through the documentaries he's been featured in and his social media feed, and he seemed like a down to earth, passionate guy. RIP, in a sense it's good he went out doing something he loved but this is really sad.

Wow. Mike Hall was hit at 6:20am. Almost to the minute of Micky's death in New Zealand during the Tiki Tour 1200k.

Stay safe, everyone.

Mike Hall was an absolute beast on the bike. The amount of miles that guy can ride day in and day out is nothing short of god like. Amazing ambassador to the sport and will truly be missed.

Crushed. RIP.

Mickey killed in NZ and now a week later Mike is run over.

His completion of 4300 miles and 250,000 feet of climbing on TABR over 17 days unsupported is a monumental feet. It is sort of like doing PBP back to back six times in a row in Charly Miller time. Unfathomable. Sorry for the mindless rambling, I am very upset.

RIP
I too lost a close friend in an accident. This is actually the reason I stopped riding road bikes. In my area riding a road bike is very dangerous.
