As I contemplate getting a light go-fast bike one I hadn't heard of came up - an Orbea Orca. Any experience with these? The one I see on eBay is a 2011 Orca SFR.
Thanks!

I have no experience but would just point out that "Orca" has referred to a number of different bikes over the years, so if you're reading reviews, make sure it's the same frame you're considering. Good luck!

I have not ridden one, but one of the GCN presenters has one and did a video on it not that long ago, could be useful.

I know they have been around for a while and have been used by a pro team or two if that means anything! I believe most reviews were pretty favorable. Should be able to find some online.

Have owned an orbea before and it was a nice bike. The orca is their carbon race bike, but there were different levels depending on what group it came with. Nice bikes in my experience. Made in basque country Spain as far as I know.

I've ridden with a woman a couple times who rides one these. Not sure the exact vintage. We've bumped into each other on a local climb once or twice in the mornings mostly and chatted bikes. The bike climbs well according to her. She's done all the usual Colorado climbs on it. She's in her late fifties and keeps a solid pace. Though I suspect an early retirement and everyday rides has more to do with her performance than the actual bike itself.

I've sold Orbeas in the past (2010-2013) and serviced and rode my far share. I think they are decent bikes if you are a smaller rider. They tended to be light, comfortable but not that stiff and not that durable. I haven't played with the new ones but if your riding a size medium or smaller, id say go for it!

A teammate had one and blew up the top tube in a race crash. Orbea did not offer a crash replacement or pro deal.
