I've never had a tt bike just used my road bike for our thurs. nite tt or real race. This winter I'm thinking about putting together one. Question; I ride a 58 top tube on the road bike will that change on a tt machine? Also is there any real difference between a time trial bike and a tri-bike?

Thanks
Mike

I second the yes, partially depends on the angle of the seat tube, my TT frame has a 2.5cm shorter top tube than my road bikes.... Your results may vary!

TT bikes can be different than tri bikes-beacuse of the 5cm behind bb rule that the UCI has-does not apply to tri.

My top tube on my tt is 1.5 cm shorter than the top tube on my roadie. i am at the 5 cm rule I do both long course tri and time trial with no postion changes.

see a fitter with some knowledge in the area in getting guys set up for tt before you go out and buy something.
