1.Should I be using the blue (2006) pads on aluminum rims, or are they for carbon rims only?

2. Are the black pads that come in the Zero Gravity box, universal? i.e. Carbon and Aluminum.

For some reason they do not specify this on the ZG website.

Swoop? Climb? Obtuse(check your pm's)? Am I using the wrong pads? They feel fine. Just want to make sure.

THANK YOU imho

The blue pads are formulated for carbon rims, but they work on alu rims
too, but they suggest not changing wheels between the two, as some
bits of alu get into the pads, and then would scratch the carbon rims.

I usually set up bikes with alu rims with the campy pads that also come
in the box, they last longer (and are for alu rims only).

black pads are for aluminum rims. blue are their version of cork for carbon. you can use either on either but they work best if you do black for aluminum and blue for carbon.
they don't like you switching carbon and aluminum rims without switching pads... something about aluminum frags ruining the carbon rim... but if you are on team wheels.... well.. trash em!

do ya feel me?

and if you only have one set of wheels...

then put the blue on the back...and the black on the front...the blue are pretty good with aluminium and are lighter as well. you get to use both sets and get the best of both worlds.

I'm currently running Corima rear and Swissstop green on the front. Very nice.

For alum rims, Kool Stop Salmon can't be beat. ;)
