Found this video the other day while searching 9000 frt der install. I was having a few troubles getting proper tension.

Tried it and t does work....solved my issues and headache. Might be useful to all who use Shimano

I have been setting them up on the big ring for a while.
Set limits, Shift to the big ring, stop pedaling. While pulling cable, shift the shifter to the low position. Reset cable tension and pedal. They always seem to be fine. Lot of tension.

Man, good to know. I'd been having trouble with a 6800 FD until a couple days ago. I did install an inline adjuster and got it to work, but I wish I had seen this just a little sooner.

I got fed up and bought the latest-greatest 9100 front derailleur. It works like a charm. I could never get my 9000 FD to play nice. Always had issues with chain rub on either the high end or low end of the cluster.

Do you feel like the lever action is easier with the 9100 front mech?

Immensely. The cable tension required to make this thing work is much lower, which is probably a factor.

Very very cool.
