I didn't like black bikes for a while, but a few round these parts have made me think again. they looks especially fine with color accents, carbon wheels, and gumwalls.

I'd love to see what you guys do to prevent the full blackout look, little bits of color here and there can really set things off.

So lets see your black or mainly black bikes. :banana:

Have posted this before, but luv my black Paramount, 75th Anniversary-style (and yes, I have long since fixed the crap bar wrap job from when it was new and I was still tweaking the position). I like the contrast of the white panel, the white lettering in the classic Paramount font, the polished rear stays, the gum wall tubulars, the stainless polished lugs, etc. I had them make a steel fork with 6" chromed tips but haven't used it yet--the bike rides so well with the Enve fork that I haven't wanted to change it!

I have never mastered posting pics on the Forum (just not tech head, I guess), so a word picture will have to suffice....

Imagine a circa 2008 59 cm Pegoretti Duende in the black ethnic paint (Reggie Baseball has posted pics of a very similar bike), but mine has 2006 Record (with carbon compact cranks), black Ritchey bars and stem and a brown Fizik Aliante, with matching brown Fizik bar tape. 32 hole Open Pros.

A bit heavy (but then so am I!)but beautiful, in my eyes.

Hey, I like the full blackout look! But there was a time when this bike had Joe Young-built DT Swiss wheels with black rims and red labled 240s hubs...and my astute mechanic added a tiny strip of red pinstripe tape over the black electrical tape holding the bartape down, plus red anodized cable crimp-on ends, and those tiny elements just made the whole thing pop.

Sorry, this is the only pic I have of that bike, pre- all the red bits described above.

Actually those went on my seven. Rebuilt that with 10speed record...just made the bike sexier and man does it just hum. Silent as can be, which I get a kick out of.

It's the MCFK stem at -17deg, personally I think the TIME stem looks much more appropriate

Built up this Zen Road Disc back in January. Columbus Spirit HSS, tube size and shaping is very cool. Only minor disappointing part is that is 20lbs I was hoping for around 18.

Bought this ffh from a forum member late last fall. Built it w a parts bin group rival 10sp. Gravel traveler. The geo on paper looked good as I have long arms so the longer tt was welcome. So far I really like it. Put a few hundred miles of gravel on it and it's a very very good 853 production frame imo. Many more miles to come. The wheel/tire combo....yeah that's not bad either😍. Working on chopping steertube once I'm set w stem height and removing canti integrated topcap as the mullet linear/canti is in control now.

Actually searched high and low for the RS groupset in NOS , looking for a complete groupo with 170mm crankset.
Hard to come by hence the decision to go for the first gen SR11.

This is my kids/wifey.... not the bike itself but the same model and with white lettering and accents. Amazingly enough they make 3xs of this ones aswell, and honestly can't even imagine a 3xs (like a 43ish), one in the picture is xs (47ish).
