Hello.

The 12-29 Campagnolo 11 speed cassette is this:
12-13-14-15-16-17-19-21-23-26-29

Is there any disadvantage of not having the 18 tooth cog in this cassette?

In my view, no. Take away the 12 and you have the 10-speed 13-29. I have used that cassette very often in many situations. My view is that once you get to 17, a two-tooth jump is a minor detail, barely noticed. I have also ridden the 12-25 slightly more often, so I feel pretty good about my judgment. I raced the 12-25, so paying attention to the gear was a first-order priority.

Hard to say..the interior cogs get used a lot more than the ones at the ends BUT if you need a 29t, not much else you can do..

I have a few cassettes with 18 tooth sprockets, and a few without - I barely notice the difference. The 2 tooth jump between is just small enough to be in the "sweet spot"

I find that the 12-29 11spd cassette to be just about perfect in combination with a compact crank. It has a high enough high gear (50/12 is big enough for me), a very low low gear (34/29 is almost the same as a 39/34), and the difference in gear sizes is right in the sweet spot (6 - 10% difference between gears) across the entire range.
