Did someone hear a small tear roll down his cheek?

Congratulations, you are the proud owner of a race bike.

come on, doc, you're a friggin' english teacher+writer+word junkie. e-lab-or-ate. owning one myself, i'm tres curious your take, especially considering all your bike travails. use your words. you know quite a few.

as per climb's request:

look -- its a flippin bike. it either works or it doesn't. this one works. there is only one thing that surprised me -- the high bb will take some getting used to in fast corners. did a couple of crit-corner sprints in and out of turns -- awesome coming out of it, but at first it felt kind of weird coming in. however, the front end is flipping stiff and the trail is right, so i found that the more i pushed/leaned the bike, the more it wanted to go through the turn -- its just going to take a few days of getting used to the higher bb.

stiff, comfy, good handling blah blah blah...it works.

Couldn't agree more with Robert about the CR1 feeling a bit indefinite in the turns. But the bike geometry works well and I found that moving more weight forward (and down on the outside pedal of course) brought back the feel of confidence. It has not disappointed me in the twisties since I eased my weight forward on the bars.
