They are very cute. I was barreling down a hill and came across two skunks fighting in the middle of the road. Luckily it was a quiet, rural road, and I was able to stop some distance back and let them finish before proceeding.

It's a good thing that wasn't Mrs Squirrel and family - they would have shredded the tire and ripped his legs to pieces.

Skunks are actually pretty peaceful. They only spray if threatened. I've live-trapped and relocated many of them over the years. Once they are in the trap, you just cover it with a blanket so they don't become scared. Then you can bring them to a nice rural location for release.

Person behind the camera stayed much calmer than I could have. Probably never heard of rabies or been in close vicinity of fresh spray before . That camera would have been shaking if I was behind it. Great video.

Skunks make rally nice pets from what I heard, obviously after you take the glands out 1st.

Camping in the Chiracahua Mountains of SE Arizona with family, my Dad and I were the last ones sitting out by the fire. A family of skunks came through camp. Rubbing the chair legs like cats. We sat very still and didn't say much.....til they left.
