Vanity license plate seen this morning on a black Chevy Impala with blacked out taillights, windows, chrome mag wheels:

"MAURADER"

The correct spelling was probably already taken.

Driver probably thought no one would notice.

I had used G1NGER as GINGER was already taken. Talk about a world of headaches, besides people asking me what goneger meant the cops kept pulling me over because GINGER belonged on another car...and the GINGER was a red eldorado stolen in South Carolina...(Dude...put your gun away and read the plate...it's a 1 not an I, and it's from MICHIGAN...*sigh*)

Try explaining to the DMV at the state level that you are a psychologist and have a Ph.D. (doc) and you want a vanity plate that reads "PSY DOC" and being told that "PSY DOC" could be seen as vulgar (think OBGYN). By training, I am a social psychologist. But, "SOC PSY" would not work either.

I happened to be driving through a tiny agricultural town in eastern Oregon over the 4th of July, returning from a backpacking trip. It was a very patriotic town. Coming the other way was one of the largest suburbans I've seen, jacked up with tires more fit for a backhoe. Its license plate was simple but hard-hitting: BEEF

I've probably shared this before, but my favorite vanity plate, spotted in Boston's South End many years ago, said:

CLICHE

I'm thinking this one could be all right, too:

My all time favorite was on a Mercedes roadster and it read "WAS HIS."

I always get a chuckle when I see a "Starfleet Academy" sticker on a rear windshield.

I sent that to my sister - her business is indexing and editorial services - and she said she saw one on a pickup truck ...

GENUIS

I wish I'd thought of that.

And, in the section of the local business reeview where they list the companies recently filing aricles of incorporation, I see a local guy is starting a software consulting business.
