I have been using them forever, road bike boxes usually ship for about $25 on my usual route, from the middle of the country to the coast. Now it seems like prices are starting at $50 for the same thing, and they get pretty high.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, anyone else notice this?

My recent experience with FedEx has been that prices have risen over the past year.

Seems the same for me. Just checked for a set of wheels I shipped 6mo ago to NC from CT and shows the same price.

Site seems to be working.

same for me too.....wheels shipped from TX to CA for $27.

are you sure you're plugging in the size appropriately? I always use my own size inputs to make sure they're as accurate as possible.

No.. still getting quoted sub-$30 for frames and bikes going to my half (left half) of the country, as recently as couple days ago

Seems like it to me, I just shipped a <30lb boxed bike and it was $65. Don't remember it being that high last year

I noticed for work that UPS and FedEx prices took a bump upwards for 2017.

Same prices I paid a little over a month ago.

Hm, weird. I'm selecting the regular "Road Bike Box" and it gives me $49.99, but selecting "Frame Box" gives me $28.99. I swear I usually just select road bike box, I'll just measure and enter the dimensions myself. With Road Bike Box, the selected weight is 55lbs, and frame only is 20. Definitely around 20 total.

Thanks all.
