I am about a 41 chest with a 30 waist. I am pretty solidly a large jersey but the problem is that most large Jersey are more like 32-36 waist or similar and I end up with a lot of extra jersey from the chest down.

Those of you with similar “athletic” builds, what brands fit you well? Race cuts are also pretty slim in the arms which can be an issue too.

Try a large but in race-cut. It will be more tapered in the chest and waist.

Twin six L might be your ticket.. im a 38 and thought a L would be good but its too loose up top and a M is a serious Race fit.

Voler race cut or some of the newer Bellwether designs in L might work, both run pretty small. I'm like a 38 chest with a 31 waist - Voler race Ms are just doable for me; the bellwether Meds I tried fit like a skin suit, so no go for me, but haven't tried a L yet.

Cafe Du Cycliste might work. I've noticed it's looser in the chest for the same waist compared to other jerseys. You'd be a size L

No affiliation other than having bought some stuff, but their "fit guide" helps understand why jerseys are all over the place:

So you need an idea of where the jersey you're looking at fits within the model line within a brand - even within brands, they will have multiple fits, often not obviously so (ie, a "large" may be 40" chest in 3 different cuts, and fit wildly different.)

I have the same problem, 29-30 waist with an athletic build. Seems like if something fits right one way, it fits wrong in another. Makes buying online tough. I've found Pearl Izumi jerseys seem to fit me pretty well.

This is really great. Thank you.

Just a data point for you - My team kits are from Hincapie and I am similar size to you and wear a medium.

How are things below the waist? The sizing from them shows a 33-35 waist which is still upwards of an extra 4 inches of material on paper.
