Handlebar tape

Last step of the build before she gets put back together. I want to be risky and venture away from the standard black bar tape that I have always had on all my bikes. Need a little help what will go well with this bike for tape. You guys always have great taste with your builds. The only change to the picture below is Corsa G+ skin wall tires when they come in from PBK.

Thanks guys. I am digging the white. Do I have to run a white saddle or is the black ok. I have this saddle that I may try out.

Hate to say it, being someone who regularly wrapped his bars in white bar tape, but the time for white tape has passed in my opinion.

I know you said no black, but my current favorite tape is the Cinelli rubberized black bar tape, light and awesome feel. An absolute PIA to wrap though.

Color bar tape is always risky and red is the obvious choice here, but there's something very understated about black bar tape.

No, it was painted white when I got it from Gita/Dario. This Peg is/was custom (more long 'n low but I forgot the numbers), special ordered through Gita when they accepted custom orders - Gita may still accept orders for custom Pegs but I not current if they do or not.

Two approaches:

Clean the tape regularly with Dawn dishwashing soap and keep it lookin' Pro right outta the mechanics van
Dirty as devil-may-care because you are a rider and the bike is but a tool

R3 pal, I am with you on this for the most part. But there are some bikes out there that are just BEGGING to be white-taped and I will make exceptions...and I did!...on my Corsa.

That's the appeal of the Fizik Microtex (now called Classic) tape. It doesn't really get dirty.

thing is I already hate cleaning my bike. Adding scrubbing the white tape would make it worst for me.

That said I agree with weisan, some bikes do look really good with white tape/bars.

It's really not too tough. Maybe a 5 minute wipe down once every many hundred miles - no scrubbing. Plus, if your gloves are clean, it hardly get's dirty.....unless you drop chain a lot...;) :help:
