It seems the "adventure" bike has taken on a new genre of bike. Although they are a hard tail which seem to have feel out of style in the early 2000s, I am interested to building one.
The Soma B side has been in my cross hairs. I like this frame for the duality of a single speed and geared drop out. However the dropout is not suitable for a through axle. http://www.somafab.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/wolverine_org_v2_dropouts_800.jpg
Investigating further, I found that the Jamis Dragon Slayer has a similar set up except with a adjustable dropout that is compatible with a through axle. http://14761-presscdn-0-15.pagely.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/IMG_3350-Sea-otter-2015-jamis-dragonslayer-enduro-mountainbike-magazine-780x520.jpg
Has anyone had any experinece with these? I am curious if there are companies that already make this component? If so, I hope companies recognize new opportunities for bike variations.
