Al Jarreau has passed away at 76.
What a voice, and he sang some memorable songs. I always especially liked Mornin' and Moonlighting, but there were lots more.

I've probably listened to the live album Look to the Rainbow a thousand times. Heard him live many years ago, which was a treat. His vocal dexterity was remarkable. Rest in peace, Al Jarreau.

My wife and I saw him at the Paramount in Peekskill a couple of years ago.

That guy would have been a world class musician on whatever instrument he chose. The fact that he chose his own voice is icing on the cake. Incredible control over tone/timber, articulation, pitch, and dynamics. That he could do all that while also singing words and infusing their meaning with a sensitive reading, just boggles the mind.

Moonlighting is one of the best shower singing songs ever.
Incredible voice.
