Great movie..

Besides the "pro" cast of cyclists, it was directed by Louis Malle.. (Oscar winner)
As well, Jean Bobet, writer and journalist, is listed in the opening credits. Jean, a very fine pro cyclist and brother to Louison Bobet, winner of three consecutive TDF's (1953, 1954 & 1955).

Yup.. i noticed those top gunners on the line up.
Really liked it though i didn´t get why it ended like it did..

Interesting how doping was considered a threat to the sport much the same as it is today...I guess we haven't evolved much since then.

Interesting how everything and everybody looked down to earth.. The loitering of drinks, the riders who had to be pushed. So different from the pro, dettached from the masses peloton from today. NOt only in attitude but for security reasons. One thing for sure: we have way less fun today than people had in the 60s.
It was crude, primitive but people were real and close to each other.

Excellent..guys in the 'laughing group' with spare tires..cuz the support cars are way up the road..made me tired just watching it.

Poulidor pedal stroke is unbelievably fluid.
HIs fit on the bike is interesting as well: long arms, long stem.
