Looking for a nice set of clinchers. Ran across some coments that Pro 4's run big. Perfect. Fat 25's.
Anyone use them? Do they hold up? Slice easy?
Whats the skinny?

I like them. Just a tad fatter than Conti 4000's. They seem quite durable and a bit more comfortable than the Contis.

Been riding the pro 4 endurance on my Calfee. Pretty happy!

I'll buy 4-5 when they're on sale. Haven't had any issues with cutting, wear seems pretty much on par with anything else. The 25 does profile pretty big on a wide rim. But, that's a good thing, right?

These aren't the Michelins of old that cut easily, I wear them out.

just went thru a set of Pro 4 Comp Service Course (their naming convention for this series of tire is way too convoluted)...

23s weren't really any fatter than the Contis or Schwalbes I've tried.

decent feel, fair mileage...got 3K miles out of the rear.

bought another set on sale last month...wouldn't really be all that interested at full price.

Haven't ridden Michelin in 10 years for this very reason. Maybe I need to go back n give them a try.

I run Pro 4 SC on front, Endurance on rear. More than satisfied. Considering how nice they ride, flat protection and longevity is good. If you want a tougher tire, with more flat protection and longer life, I think you have to put up with a rougher ride. No free lunch.

Fragile in my experience with the Service Course.

I run the S.C version in 700x25 on one of my sets of wheels and any flat's that I've gotten have been completely my fault. A couple of sets I ran down to the cords in back. The couple that didn't make it long were the same kind of damage. I was on secondary roads going at a good clip and in both cases just nailed a few decent size rocks. I never saw the damn things due to the lighting.

I've been using them for years. Currently have the Endurance and SCs on some wheels. They work great. I kind of prefer the 4000s now but can't go wrong with the Pro4, especially with the prices you can find.

Rode the Pro's exclusively for a decade (various models ending with the 4's) but eventually switched to 4000s 2's due to durability issues and a rash of manufacturing defects with the Michelins.

Plus 1. They run wide and not as tall as the continentals.

I've run sets to the cord and tossed near new with cuts to the cord. Depends what you ride on, or over. I have a set of 23's in the garage to replace the current set on C-40. With 25's there's only a couple mm clearance to the fork crown and I can hear grit scraping the carbon when riding after a rain. Been running Michelin 2's and 4's for a long time. My stock of Pro 2's lasted through the Pro 3 era. Pro 4's seem as good as the Pro 2's.

It's funny how experiences differ so widely, mine is the ride and durability of the michelins has been really hard to beat (especially for the $ deals around) and the conti's I have gotten have almost all had problems. Pretty much run michelins because of it.

I really like 'em. Put a pair of 25mm Endurance tires on my wife's bike and she wa immediately impressed with the ride.
I don't flat more than my friends who tend to run Conti's.

On my Pacenti rims, 25mm Michelins balloon to 27.5mm.

I use both Pro4 Service Course and conti GP4000s. Both nice.

I think the Michelin are a bit more durable and the Contis roll better. The contis run slightly wider.

I haven't tried any of the new generation Michelins. It seems they have improved the following resistance a bit.

I use(d) GP4000s 23c and Michelin Pro 4 SC 25c.

Both size up wider than stated, the Contis are about 25 wide and the Michelin about 28 (on Pacenti rims).

Prefer the Contis, they just feel better/faster. Infact I'm positive they are faster. Have tried both pairs at all sorts of pressures; the Contis always feel faster.

I only bought the Michelins because they were cheap at the time. They've been durable enough; infact I discovered on Saturday that the rear had worn right through to the casing and I still didn't get a puncture.

I've since removed them and have replaced with GP4000s again. I doubt I will buy Michelin again, unless they come up cheap again (33% cheaper than the Contis when I bought them).

Pro 4's are great tires. Fast rolling and somewhat durable. No tire will save you from the perfect shard of glass on a rainy ride.

Good grip. High volume. Even wearing. Easy to mount. Best of all...you can find them on sale all the time.

I haven't tried them but am interested after reading this thread. Biketiresdirect.com has a 3-day sale going on Michelin tires. The Pro4 Endurance (https://www.biketiresdirect.com/product/michelin-pro4-endurance-tire) are 40% off MSRP. On their site you can find good deals on their other flavors as well.

Anyone have experience with these tires in the rain? I really like Vitorria open corsa but my last tire only lasted 350 miles before a large hole developed. Need to find something else

i found that the mid level Service Course (not the Endurance and not the super-soft Comp SC) had better feel than a Conti GP4000 but wasn't as supple as a Vittoria Corsa SC. Flat protection was above average to good and the 25 measured to 28-29. It's huge.

I like the Pro4 Endurance for training. It sits between 28-29mm on an H + Son rim.. I only get about 2500 (3-4 months)max on a rear after rotating from the front and the tread has separated between the grey and black on a few tires lately. The ride is much better than a GP4000 but the tire is slower. I don't know if I will stock up more since I have enough to last for at least another year. Although they are hard to beat for $25 bucks.

Have had great success. Put lots of miles on pro4 23c endurance tires. No flats. Lots of rain riding.
