I had my LBS order me some salsa gel bar tape and I just got it today and noticed an interesting warning on the back : "Warning: This product contains chemicals, including lead, known to the state of California to cause birth defects, neurological disorders, and cancer. WASH HANDS THOROUGHLY AFTER TOUCHING!"

Can any Dr.'s or Lawyers explain this odd warning to me, do I need to worry about this? Is Salsa just covering there a**?

we know and love will be doing away with that regulation very soon.

Dont use it in California and you will be fine.

It's due to Prop 65, I'd be tempted to call it the worst written proposition in human history, although I'm sure I'd be wrong. Prop 65 warnings are generally ignored by Californians. They are on almost everything.

Yup, That's a Prob 65 warning. Companies that sell product in CA that contain trace amounts of certain chemicals and don't list that are liable for very large lawsuits.

I hope you'll still use the Salsa tape.

It's great tape, with good cushion and nice elasticity for wrapping.

Plus, all those colors!

+1, my favorite cushy tape, and has proven durable as well.
