Hey guys,

Have a couple options to throw on the Peg. Have a Super Record 2013 group I can throw on or a 2016 Chorus group/Record 4 arm crank (this crank will be used for either the SR or Chorus) I can throw on. Both function like new. Which one should I use? Never used the newer Campy stuff is it worth it over previous gen Super Record? Weight doesn't matter to me.

Cheers!

quite a good problem to have!

i've honestly never used a full super record group, but i dont think there is a wrong choice here, they will both function excellently.

i really like the newest chorus stuff. i've got it on my marinoni and it shifts just lovely. very positive feeling.

^^^^ Beautiful Bike^^^^

Yes I have used the previous gen SR and loved it just wondering if there is a difference going to the next gen. More positive feel, snappy, faster? Negatives?

well, i do have record shifters from the last gen, and yes - i do believe, ever so slight though, that the newest stuff is a little "crisper" shifting. hard to really verbalize though. they both work great!

Id go with 2015+ for performance and looks (tho i still dont like the cranks).
The thing is that pre 2015 stuff seem to fetch very little cash if sold so if i was building and trying to cut costs i would go with the previous gen.

That Marioni is beautiful btw!

I have 2012 and 2015 SR groups. I think the 2015 FD works a little faster/snappier than the 2012, but in practice there is not much of a usability difference between the two groups. The levers feel about the same to me. The biggest difference is how you feel about the looks of the 4 or 5 arm cranks.

The 11s v2 FD is a little trickier to set up since the pull direction is different than any other Campy FD I have used and is quite sensitive to tension. Definitely use the inline cable adjuster. Also you may run into difficulties with the FD cable rubbing on the derailleur itself. This was an issue on my Alchemy Xanthus. Campy sells a part that fixes this issue but frankly this part should come with the FD.

the new campy stuff works better on some bikes than others, it works amazing on Angrys bike, its perfection there.

Lets see the bike it is going to go on.

I personally like the new crank, its even better when you hold it because the carbon arms are massive but very thin. I also like chorus because of the white logos instead of red, unless your bike is red, the record, super record red will clash.

I have had chorus, record, centaur, ect and don't notice much btw each other. Curious to try my new chorus 11 and see if the shifting is indeed better but campy has got the paddle shifting down since 8 speed era.

Thanks guys for all the input. Thinking I'm going to go with the 2016 Chorus if not for anything just to try it out. Here is a shot of the bike.

The crank is going to be the 4 Arm Record crank and the Gold Shamal are gone and either Fulcrum 50 or Lightweight tubs will make there way on it. Also the seat is gone for a solid black carbon railed Antares.

Do it. The new crank looks great with deep carbon wheels.

A Peg with 2015+ chorus, lightweights, and ee brakes is my dream road bike.

I had EE brakes also but just can't seem to put them on the Peg. It will have Super Record brakes. The EE brakes give to much of an industrial look to them.

This bike loves being sized down. It is a size smaller for me also but wouldn't have it any other way. That is why a 130mm stem. Usually ride a 54
