Want to replace 9000 derailleur cable, outer is fine. Thought that there was a change in the 9000 for improved smoothness. Or would I do same or better with something else. Is there are model number?

thx

the DA level cable (i think it's actually combined 6800/9000 for this generation) is PU coated. and supposedly better, for it

But housing inner PU tubing usually goes out before the cables, unfortunately.. are you sure your housing is good?

If you're running 9k, the 9k cables are still the slickest Shimano makes.

...but... I don't like the way them and 6800 cables fuzz up, so I went with Optislick cables this time round. Different aka not quite as slick a coating, but still plenty slick to shift nicely

I don't have any miles on that bike yet to tell about durability.

Thx will replace it all. I was doing preventive because of the supposed shifter fraying problem.

The shift cable housing on 9000 stuff is the same old sp41 housing. 9000 brake cable housing is upgraded tho.
