wow. Insanity. Seen a few monsters out on some more remote rides on my gravel bike.

Also, it has taken me until this post to realize that you're also on the Space Coast, Keith.

Don't know if you do any gravel/whatever riding, but if you ride out past the Viera wetlands, into the Moccasin Island area, and head south you can wind your way down towards lake Washington.

There's a couple canals back there that I'm pretty sure have a six alligators this size and a kraken in them.

That things is huge. Not sure of the distance to the photographers, it may be depth perception, but looks awful close. Gators can fly if they need to run.

Not only is that gator huge, but the very next video has bicycle-related content:

"Bubba Barron of Viera is starting a bicycle tour of unique Space Coast locations. Video by Malcolm Denemark, FLORIDA TODAY Posted Jan. 13, 2017"
http://www.floridatoday.com/videos/news/2017/01/13/viera-man-start-bicycle-tours-space-coast/96571364/

Bicycles and alligators. Two great things that go great together. Hopefully the bikes can outrun the gators.

I saw a local news report where they stated local law enforcement have verified the video as real.

We once saw a 16' gator from an airboat in the Everglades. That was a close as I would want to be.

man just yesterday, out on a trail down here there was some guy with an unleashed dog, letting the dog run around and jump in the swamp on either side of the trail. Gators almost always run away on land, but getting in the water is a different story

True story - I lived in Fl as a kid in the early 60's had a crazy uncle who would hunt them B4 it was legal, he gave me a small one for a pet. We kept it in the bathtub until it got to big to fool with - gave it to a gator farm.

The good ol days.

I thought the path looked familiar so I did some checking. The Circle B Preserve is a local park that has trails for walking, photographers and riding. Signs are posted during mating season to caution people. I have some pics somewhere I'll post. People always look at me like I'm nuts as I ride the Hampsten on the gravel trails.

They say gators can only sprint 30 meters or so.......same as Tom Boonen these days.
