I'm in SF for two weeks for work. Traveling with my bike. Yesterday, my first day, I broke a set screw on my eTAP rear derailleur.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a shop where I can get this repaired today, Sunday?

Above Category is closed. Wrench Science is closed. I don't know anything about the rest and whether they might have eTAP in stock.

I really wanted to ride far and long.

Bummer. Looks like city cycle and roaring mouse are open. I'm not a sf denizen but I like roaring mouse the few times I've been. I think city cycles has a good rep.

Maybe the Bobswire or other sf member can chime in

These folks do a lot of SRAM, no idea how that has them up on the eTap.

I wouldn't be much help with E-tap, try American Cyclery if they don't have a part perhaps they can help suggest one. http://www.americancyclery.com/

OK, I don't know much about etap, but if it's a set screw, does it mean it still will work but you have to remember to shift into the spokes?

Try Huckleberry on Market St. They also have one in the East Bay if you're staying over there.

Beyond Aero in Berkeley does a lot of E-Tap. I'd check with him. Owners name is Andres. Good dude.

Was wondering also.....would a metric hardware screw work over the weekend?

I'd try the Ace on Mariposa. Best fastener section in the city. Might call to check hours today with the holiday. http://www.centerhardware.com/

Harrison and Bonini

They have every bolt, nut, screw known to man. If they don't have it, it doesn't exist.

Sorry for the poor follow up. When I travel, I spend little time online.

On the eTap rear derailleur, I snapped the rear limit screw when I had a tipover. Apparently, it's a longer length than typical derailleurs. I get the sense this is true with other SRAM rear derailleurs too, based on my following experience. I started at Mikes Bikes in SF on Howard and they were super helpful, installed a Shimano limit screw, but it was too short. They had nothing longer and understandably didn't want to cannibalize from a new derailleur. Even with all their help, they charged me nothing. They directed me to Roaring Mouse.

Because I wasn't too far from REI, I went there next. Their mechanic rides SRAM Red and knew exactly the screw I needed and seemed to understand they were longer than Shimano. In stock, they had a derailleur screw kit that contained the proper length limit screw. He installed it in seconds and even dialed in some of the adjustments on the front so shifting became better. Again, super helpful, super friendly, and no charge. REI is good people.

Thanks to all who helped. I'll try to post a pic later.

Also perhaps late, but for future reference?

I had a great experience with the folks at 6Fifteen Cyclery. Would recommend if you ever need a rental or work done.

Ritchey Breakaway carbon travel bike, with eTap wireless.

Also, I'm using the Ritchey WCS Carbon wheels with the quick release cassette hubs which are fantastic for packing into the Ritchey case.

Also using MKS EZY quick release pedals.

All this adds up to a bike that's super easy to pack and take on trips.

Ritchey Breakaway carbon travel bike...

Your choice of bottle attachment, cageless? Does that facilitate backing too?

It's not imperative to remove cages for the case, but cageless certainly makes it easier. Padding goes all the way around the tube(s) rather than avoiding cage sections. Space in the case is a premium, so every little bit helps.
