Have a friend who's planning to purchase a used Trek OCLV 120, and sent me this photo of the underside of the downtube near the BB. Is that "scratch" anything to worry about? I was going to say no, but thought best to ask the paceline braintrust. Thanks!

Near the DS BB cup?
It looks fine. Probably from a chain.

In between the derailleur cables on the downtube is what I think he's talking about

+1. If the price is right as is the fit, I would say buy it.

EDIT. I took another look based on the above member's post, and I see only typical carbon weave lines. It would help if the OP would let us know what is the concern ... perhaps edit the photo with a big arrow where we should direct our attention.

Between the cables is simply the carbon fabrication. The scratch is near the drive side BB cup as stated above. Looks to be no big deal to me. If the price is right I would not hesitate to jump on it. Maybe with a little clear nail polish carefully applied it may disappear.

Crap, should have noticed the OP said it was the downtube area. Hmmm. Is it just in the clear coat? If no carbon has been damaged I wouldn't sweat it. Again, maybe some clear nail polish to make it look better.

That shell is made of aluminum or titanium, whatever it is, is superficial. If the price is right and fits go for it.

I believe this is what he was talking about. Photo editor magic!

The photo makes it look like a patch, IMO.

Serial Number sticker was there.

I believe you are correct. The SN sticker was probably there beforehand. Is that line in the area typical?

Hmm..now that I think about it...should he be worried that the sticker was removed in the first place..? =\
