I'm going to be commuting some on my new used Benotto Modelo 1700 track bike and wanted to know what surrogates were out there for the old Campy Peanut Butter Wrench. I'll need it to be pretty minimal so it'll fit in a jersey pocket or a small seat bag, but long enough to get up some torque.

Suggestions?

When I rode fixed I kept a Kobalt shorty 15mm combination wrench in my tool roll.

I have the surly tool posted above. Fits in a saddle bag. Works well. Would be great to have the 3wrencho. . But I already carry levers and stuff with me .

My goto tools when I rode fixed daily were a Pedros trixie and a Topeak Hexus II (levers and chain tool and multi tool).

In addition to the above, I also have a tiny craftsman adjustable wrench.

Another vote for this bad boy.

I have a bunch of Campy PB wrenches, but I carry the Cobalt stubby wrench. It's smaller, lighter, and I don't worry about it getting lost. Even better solution is to use Phil Wood hubs which use a 6mm hex wrench.

If you want a Campy vintage PB wrench, I have one. Happy to see it to a good home. PM me if you're interested.

Wish I knew where my campy PB wrench was hiding.

I'm amazed at the variety. I have carried wrenches in the past, and now that I have some cavernous Ortlieb panniers and little to put in them, I suppose I should rustle up a couple tools to carry.

Mostly though, I rely on not getting flats. :) I squirt some Stans in my tires. If I get a flat I suffer with the walk over to Clark St and the humbling ride to work on the CTA's #22 bus.
