as you well know, bikes can take on a whole new life after being fixed. Fix it up I say.

If it'll max out your miles on that sweet Belgian steed, I say DO IT!

Fixed my CSi. Sometimes you have an older steel frame that's a killer ride, but not longer your main road bike. It's a good way to get it back into regular use.

I'm fixing my steel Odonata as we speak. New life indeed, I can't wait to try it out. It was gathering dust.

Probaly works fine if you don't live among the mountain and you're contantly climbing steep hills. I also think it might be a little hard on the knees if you are contantly climbing steep hills. I also like to use 53-13 gears alot and I am not sure how practical a 53 tooth chainring would work on a fixed gear.

used a fixed gear track bike down here in flat naples for years. worked great with a 42/14 and a 43/15 gear. never a problem. of course our only inclines are going over bridges. enjoy!
