A long shot--but as we shiver in our partially renovated 60s modern with its acres of single pane glass--I wondered if anyone has run across a door and window specialist/outlet store, with a yard full of good windows and doors.

I'm not fussy about new or used--but what I need are large sizes (8'x8' sliders for example).

I have the pickup and am willing to drive pretty much anywhere in New England/Mid Atlantic for the right stuff.

Cheers,
Dean

There is a grossmans bargain outlet in gloversville NY with lots of odd and regular sized windows with very reasonable prices. If your coming from dutchess county it's probably a 2hr drive. Pm me the size windows you are looking for and I can stop there after I go to the lbs out that way and see if they have what you need in stock:beer:

Apparently, there used to be a really great place in Fall River, but it recently closed up shop. I have an odd sized door that I need to replace, so I made a list of some cool sounding salvage-type places in the general area. Haven't been to any of them in real life, but their sites are worth a browse. Who doesn't like a hundred thousand square feet of architectural antiques and salvage?

You probably don't want to come all the way to Boston, but Boston Building Resources usually has a decent stock of things like doors, windows, kitchens etc. Good place.

Maybe a bit less selection than some other places because of space constraints, though. Their website is mostly about the kitchen, bath, and diy classes they offer, but their warehouse is pretty solid.
