I sold a frame to a forum member that turned out to have poor brazing in the BB area. I took the frame back and sent it off to Matt Assenmacher for r/r.

The frame was Mica White. I bought it to replace an identical one that was stolen years ago. I found that I did not enjoy riding it because it brought back memories of the theft.

I asked Matt to change it up a bit.

I told him I would like it by May, and never bugged him about the progress.

He sent me a few quick pictures of it today. Here is one. I think he nailed it.

Good story, beautiful frame, very nice CD organization!

After all the recent "bad painter, bad painter!" stories, it is refreshing to read this.

sad thing is, there are tons of good painter stories, or we would need another forum for the bad painter forum stories

Too cool. Is it the lighting or is that an iridescent purple? Either way that thing is primo. Looking forward to some build pics and congrats.

I am also looking forward to some build pictures.;)

That's a wonderful color. It reminds me of a friends SanRensho from the mid 80's that I always liked.

Nice.

I dropped by my LBS late last week to drop off a Christmas gift. The owner was working on a restoration for a customer and part of that job included a repaint that had just been returned from Assenmacher. Fast turnaround; customer provided the decals.

That Schwinn paint job on the stripes/detail looks like crap.

That's an understatement! Jeezus, these painters.... Who the heck IS good, dependable, and yet doesn't cost a JB arm/leg?

Those fingerprints may be on the frame, just from handling, and would clean off, but that "line-work" is 100% appalling.
I honestly did better as a 14-year old, with a cheap brush and some model paint....

Come on, z. At least from the photo, your De Rosa looks 1000x better than that Schwinn. Don't despair.

That Schwinn job is what you call a 20 footer. Great from a distance. Buddy of mine is rabid collector of vintage bikes like that, those things go for big bucks! Who knew....

I would like to thank @ColonelJLloyd for being a thread crapper.:crap:

Yeah. That was totally not my intent. I only posted because I thought the timing coincidence was note worthy. That and I thought the turnaround time was quite remarkable. I don't know exactly what it was, but it was around 2 months. Compared to the horror stories we hear about I think that's a big one in the plus column.

I like purple:)--first bike was a coupla shades darker, but similar metallic undertone.

Prolly nearly fast as a red bike, me thinks.
