I was just curious if I could get any feedback or thoughts any of you much more learned members would be willing to share. I am looking for a 650b wheelset for gravel grinding, cyclocross-ish riding and light exploring. Related post here http://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=197867

I my searching, I have come across https://ritcheylogic.com/wcs-trail-275-650b-mountain-bike-wheels-1396 which appear to be a wheelset that meets all my criteria. However, I am not having a whole lot of luck getting actual feedback on these wheels. Are these something I should consider, or is there anything else that should be highly considered? Anything better than these at the same price? .. or same for less money? Is 25 internal width too wide for tires around 40?

Even less money, but Ebay and 6 bolt http://www.ebay.com/itm/Reynolds-27-5-AM-Carbon-Mountain-Bike-Wheel-Set-27-5-650b-Tubeless-Shimano-/381891986228

Thanks in advance and sorry for the remedial nature.

Just to be clear, those wheels likely will not accept a Shimano 11s road cassette if that's relevant to you. They are MTB wheels, so they take Shimano 11s mountain cassettes, which use the same freehub body as Shimano 10s and below road.

Anyway...

I bet you could get a wheelbuilder (OldPotatoe?) to build you equally nice wheels for less than those Ritcheys, but they look like perfectly nice wheels.

appreciate the feedback. I was concerned about the road cassette issue. Seems to be an issue with a lot of the 650b wheelsets in that they are designed to take mtn cassettes and not the shimano road 11

I have reached out to OldPotato and Ergott as well.

I would have someone build you wheels. There are some really great rim options out there that you aren't likely to find in off-the-shelf wheels. I just built up a set with Stan's Crest Mk3. 341g per rim!
