Anyone here selling this Seven? What does everyone think about the dents? It's my size and I have a group to put on it. Looking for input from those with Ti experience.

For the price, looks like a good deal. The dents look to be cosmetic. Looks like something (heavy) fell on the frame. It's not easy to put a ding in ti like that.

kp pal, I don't think the dent will affect the ride. Having said that, I understand your desire to try out Ti...my own experience with Ti is such that you may or may not like the ride, even if the bike fits, depending on how the bike was "tuned" to the original owner. My first ti bike, a Serotta Legend, we never really "got along". My second one, a Merlin...we were made for each other. :D

Both bought used, but totally different experience.

If you ended up falling in love with the SEVEN, chances are you will eventually get a custom Ti bike made just for you. ;)

that's a great price for a Seven. doubt if you'll fine better. do it, if it doesn't work resell during the summer on ebay.

Those dents are in a non-stressed area, so cracks aren't likely to develop.

I'd replace the waterbottle cage bolts, though. Looks like the bolts were cheap, over-torqued, or the wrench used had a sloppy fit.

Can a dent like that in Ti be rolled out or is the material too hard?

Yup, hope they aren't stuck n there, with the riv-nits turning in the frame..But dents no big deal..decent $.

Make an offer..see where it goes.

I own one of these and it is a nice bike. But for a few hundred more you can find one without dents. Used high-end Ti is the best value in cycling.

I could be casting shade unfairly, but I would make a few due diligence inquiries to the seller first, maybe even attempt to connect by phone- this is a frequent seller with other recent items sold fairly high end used components and the like, that don't seem to have come from a single bike but many bikes. And the dents are in an odd place, such as where a lock may have been twisted into the frame. Seems worth a sniff test to me.

And... you know what? If you really wanted a used Ti frame, I bet a WTB posting in the classifieds here would result in some choices.

I just don't do dents, I'd keep looking.

Same here. Those will bug you, for sure, and make it harder to resell later.

The dents; not knowing if the fork was involved in the dent incident; the bottle cage bolts; the seatpost collar (what, was a hammer used to clamp it down?); the decals; the grime at the ht badge and corrosion at the dt cable adjusters, etc.

Nothing about this frame says "pre-loved" to me...at $850, I would definitely pass.

Could be worth a look here. Pretty much same size. Yeah another $500 but seems like a good deal for complete with a pretty solid build

Looks like a "beater bike" , not sure I would trust the fork.
