Have a generic pump I'd like to leave at work but it's got a schrader end I use an adapter with so haven't used it in forever. (Have a specialized sport pump I use mostly).

Would like to salvage it but want a good, easy to use, consistent presta end that I can put on to make usable again.

Anybody know a good one?

TIA

Hard to beat the Topeak IMO. Not the coolest looking thing but it works and is rebuildable. Puts air in real good.

As a connoisseur of floor pumps (don't ask how many I own) - I'd say my two favorites are the Hirame and the Birzman "snap-it" heads.

The Hirame is fine but you do have to be careful of it -- set the right tension and never let the inner o-ring blow out -- or you have to replace it. It was originally designed -- and is best -- for use on disc wheels. Its streamlined lever allows it to get into the cutout for the valve. Before it came along, the primary tool available was the old Silca hash pipe which required you have three hands or be able to pump one handed and not be too picky about precision pressures.

For general daily purposes the standard traditional Silca presta head would do well for you. It's bulletproof, replacement parts are available anyway, and it does a great job. Just cut off the old head and put this one on. It's a nice head and it mounts easily.

Wow....crazy that looks EXACTLY like the end on my Specialized "Sport" pump which Specialized changed between the 2015-2016 year.

That Hirame is hellaexpensive but I'm sure it's good. I like that Birzman. I really only need Presta but I know both is probably smart too.

Big fan of the Hirame here, I have one on my old Silca pump as well as on my Lezyne pump. Transformed both for the (much) better.

I have the new Silca pump with their "Hiro" locking head, and it is awesome. A joy to use.

I think if one is going to spend that much, the Silca Hiro v2 is superior enough to justify the cost difference (mine was $70, new, so about what the Hirame costs).
I tried both, and the Hiro v2 is just a better thing, imo.

For what it's worth I had horrible issues with both the Birzman and Lezyne smart heads not sealing well and being generally a PITA. I replaced both those pumps with the Topeak heads.

Every pump in the shop we use has a topeak head except for one. It just works...

Hirame, not even close. Worth the money, even if it's destined for a $20 pump. Added one to a $20 swap meet Silca Track pump and it is now my go-to.

Agree or this one, Tanaka. Or the new Silca one.

I have a spare NIP Tanaka (Hirame copy) I'll sell for $35 shipped. Been using one for years with a Lezyne Floor Drive; great combo.

SKS Eva head. Inexpensive, replaceable grommits, easy to use. I'm using this on my Silca pumps:
