The threads that I have found on other forums are all so old the pictures have expired so I am not turning up too much...

These came on a bike I picked up and I don't have any use for them. Before listing them, is anyone able to identity the model and possibly give an estimate as to if they are worth anything?

Thanks!

Those look like the older speedplay x series road pedals. Very similar to the current zero series, but don't think the cleats for the x-series can be adjusted to control float like zeros.

I highly doubt you'll get much for them, check completed auctions on ebay I guess...

Those are the Speedplay X2 pedals. Light, lots of float and easy to use. Do an ebay "completed items" search for the latest prices.

Good Luck!

Correct.

@abeship: Speedplay still make the "X" series, even though they preceded the "Zero" series, etc.

The "X" series offers completely free, non-centering (the "skating on ice" sensation for some) float.
X/5 = cromoly spindle.
X/2 - stainless steel spindle. This is your model.
X/1 = titanium spindle.

Also, if your pedals are older X/2s (it looks like they are) and if you also have cleats, the cleats are most likely "X cleats - V1". Not a huge difference between "V1" and "V2" cleats. Either V1 or V2 "X" cleats will work on all "X" pedals, but the cleats are NOT interchangeable between models (say "Zero" cleats on "X" pedals, etc.).

I just sold a pair without cleats 2 days ago for $40. They sold within a day. You could probably get 50 if you wait a little, I just wanted them gone.

X2 are my favorite pedal as well, though I already have spares. I tried the zeros and don't like them, float was too limiting imo. X2s should pretty regularly sell for about $50 +/-... oh wait, I mean, actually those aren't worth anything but you can send them to me and I'll recycle them for you. ;)
