After a long search I got a legend , it came with a sort of okay paint job. I was thinking of a repaint and decided an amazing orange/pink fade would be fun. Anybody here ever get a bright serotta fade done by an independent painter? I would rather not spend a million dollars. Any advice ?

If you dont want to spend a lot, IMO then you have to do that yourself.

bmacspaintworks@gmail.comI asked a bunch of painters including Bill if they would paint a CSi with that exact paint scheme, and was told that they wouldn't do it due to the tendency of the neon paints to fade. There were two painters I contacted who were willing to paint it, with a caution about fading: Hot Tubes and CycleArt. I would be interested to know if the OP finds anyone else.

Nate Zukas (http://www.zukascycles.com/) seems to be doing a lot of neon lately

interesting, I wonder what the difference is between bright pink and fluorescent pink? Do all very bright colors fade more quickly?

thanks for all of the info guys

From what I understand, it's specifically the neon colors that are prone to fading. At first I thought it was an old paint vs. new paint thing, but apparently it has always been an issue with neon paint.

My 20+ year old GT Karakorum came out nicely after a wipe down, I dunno what paint they used back then but it is very durable, almost as good as new.

You can get some cool neon colors in powder coat. I doubt that you could get a fade though.
