Advice: Rim choice for new budget wheelset

I'm going to build some low-budget wheels around 28 hole Miche road hubs, and I'm trying to decide between two choices, DT Swiss R450's and Alex CX 24's. The DT's are a pretty sure value, but the Alex's are much wider (23mm external vs 18 for the DT's I believe. I've built both brands, and yes Alex's are generally softer, but on higher spoke counts I don't find them to be all that bad. I'd love some feedback from forumites who've either built and/or ridden either.

DT R460 are nice and wide, and cheap. I have a set laced to ultegra hubs, came out to around 1750g I think with dt comp spokes.

Ah, but these are the R450's. I think it was Old Potatoe that made the comparison of the R460's to Open Pro's and 450's to Open Sports. Either way, their good but not as nice as the R460's.

I have built several sets with Alex Crostini 3.1's and 3.2's. They are remarkably similar to Kinlin rims in the 200 range, so about 19mm wide and 200-ish tall. In other words, kinda slightly aero.

Have put a bunch of miles on them with no complaints. They built up round and trued up easily.

Folks who sold them to me insinuated that perhaps Alex made rims for both Kinlin and Shimano.

R450 has been replaced by the R460. Not a fan of OpenPro but not really apples to apples. YES, R450 much like OpenSport rim but DT a better rim, IMHO.

I'd pick the DT rim everytime. Alex rims will work but the flattness and roundness of DT far better. Better rim new=better wheelset.
