I apologize with this question ā€“ I have an older Italian frame with Italian bottom bracket and I want to build this bike with the spare parts that I have in my garage ā€“ 9 speed Shimano Ultegra group, the bottom bracket is English V1.

Is there a bottom bracket that will fit the frame with this group? Iā€™m not trying to invest too much, just trying to build this bike with what I have.

Thanks in advanced

Yes, all you need is an Octalink V1 bottom bracket with Italian threading. Any 5500-6500-7700 series unit will do. Not common, but they are out there. Amazon has one listed:https://www.amazon.com/Shimano-Octalink-Bracket-70x109mm-Italian/dp/B005M9BV5W/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&qid=1478525672&sr=8-17&keywords=octalink+bottom+bracket but I would contact the seller to confirm it's Italian thread as the picture (which may just be stock) is of one with BSA threading.

Just make sure it's V1 (not V2), 109.5 width (118's are for triples), and Italian threading.

I have a stash of Octalink, all English threaded bottom brackets. Researching prices have found a lot new for sale online with Italian Threading.
