I tried this on and it seemed to fit well. The neck was not as tight as I would thin would be optimal for keeping the wind out.

I would like a 32-45 degree jacket with craft base layer and wondered if this would be enough.

I have an older version of the jacket and use it for about the same temperature range. It fits me well, blocks the wind in the front and breaths good on the back. I would buy another one if this one ever wears out.

I'm on my second and think its great. I commute year round in Denver and wear this down to the mid 20's with extra layers. You aren't going to impress the Rapha boys down at the coffee shop, but it will do everything you need it to do on the bike.

Thanks hooter. I kind of wonder how the headwind pants work compared to tights. They might be ok for some cooler training rides.

I have an older version of the pants and love 'em. I use them for cycling, hiking, and have found nothing better for use inside waders when fly fishing. They cover a wide range of temps, block headwinds, and breath just the right amount out the back. With REI there's virtually no risk in trying them.

I really like the pants too, but they don't breath as well as the jacket so I only wear them for rides below 35 degrees. They are great to wear over my kit when I'm driving to a ride on cooler days. I wear them all time as activewear during the winter. I'm got my second pair of them last season because my son took my first pair.

This is good to know, thanks for posting.
I think I'll pick up the headwind and a stratos if they'll be 30% off as I've been looking at both to update my commuting gear.

The sales started today and I picked up the headwind pants as well as the jacket. The pants fit so well I think I will be able to use them for group rides with normal bibs underneath.

I tried these out on my commuter bike last night for a short 10 jaunt. It was pretty warm last night so I just wore a lightweight T-shirt and some compression type sport underwear.

Anyway the pants work really well. No sag, fit family tight on my legs (I have some muscles in there) etc. I can’t wait to try them on a proper group ride.

The cool thing is that they don’t look out of place with tennis shoes or cycling shoes.
