The the 60 cm bike slides nicely into the Sportwagen with the back seats folded down. But I hate leaning the bike against the car when I'm prepping ME for the ride. I want a simple little stand to keep in the car for these situations.

This is sort of what I have in mind, but wonder if you have an even better simpler idea?

How about a 2x4 with a big slot to hold the back wheel?

Not sure if this is a joke or not, but...people have been leaning their bikes against xyz forever. You could also leave the bike in your car until you've performed all you preride rituals?

it was a real question.

I have two of these (not in my car) and they work quite well.

I use something like this - works very well for all my bikes. It's a little tight for a 29er but still works.

I forgot they folded, so could do the job when needed.

For a temporary bike stand, I use the space between the tire and wheelwell to back the rear wheel of the bike into that slot. Depending on vehicle you might need to tilt/wedge the bike a bit to get a snug fit.
Caveats:
- If on a slope, bike goes on uphill side
- If tire is wet/gritty use caution to avoid abrasions to deep section rims

I use this: https://www.amazon.com/Ibera-Utility-Bicycle-Adjustable-Foldable/dp/B00G7ZO3GE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1477202566&sr=8-2&keywords=foldable+bike+stand

It is very light yet can easily hold a tandem, and will fold up and fit into a bike case for travel.

Just put it on the non drive, kickstand side.:D

Gently, won't hurt it..

Wood - but like this: https://www.westernbikeworks.com/product/feedback-rakk-storage-stand?v=slv0000&adl=1&utm_campaign=products&utm_source=google&utm_medium=base&adl=1&gclid=Cj0KEQjwnKzABRDy2pb7nPSazdsBEiQAI4lZQBSgFK1_ 7bqUt4wCsWx6XVNQ07kJNCV_P5t-k3jLe0saAipU8P8HAQ

Go to your leftover wood from projects, and construct the lower piece from whatever - make the base at least twice as high as the tire. I can take some shots of mine. I live in KS, and leaning up against cars works until the wind blows super hard...ask me

These are great, I have a couple and would be perfect for what you want and when you are done with this silly idea of not leaning the bike against the car, you can always use it at home.

Yes, and their cars usually have little scratches on the quarter panels.

This is what I thought too. Been doing it since the mid 70's on every surface I was standing on with no problems. Fairly economical too.
