No, it means 15mm was perfectly fine to begin with and the introduction of another standard with no demonstrable benefits over preexisting systems for seemingly the sole purpose of defining a "road-specific" measurement makes me feel like :crap:

yup. right there with you buddy. ill never buy a 12mm fork. never.

"sh*t robert, we cant just sell them new forks!"
"but bill, 15mm...its already here, the technology exists, we should just use it..."
"look bob. new forks arent gonna buy me a house in tahoe, ok? we gotta sell em on some sort of new "road standard," ya dig?"
"right, right...hmmm, what if we made em 12mm...they would be lighter, people always love lighter...and then we could make everyone buy new wheels/adaptors!"
"i knew i hired you for a reason. Now go call ENVE."

Totally agreed. And to any company who is spec'ing this standard, just stop. Stop it.

Good luck with that. Unusual to have to spec frames and forks to hub 'standards', and/or vice versa...dumb...boost and boost v2 is next...
