What are I doing wrong here?

I'm trying to install Dura Ace downtube shifters, and it's driving me nuts. They're brand new. The right shifter is stuck in the forward position. It won't click or move at all. Just wiggles slightly in the spot, but I can't shift through any gears. What gives?

Did you take it apart to make sure that the various innards (there aren't many) are OK?

Also, did you try to turn the D-ring to put it into friction mode?

Is the left one driving you crazy too? Have to hold it forward when you're attaching the cable to the front derailleur. Rubber band or something.

Or perhaps you know about that already. Anyway, excellent choice, you'll love 'em!

IPT, what was the problem?

I had the SIS unit in the wrong orientation. I also seem to be missing the stopper washer. Not sure if it shipped without it or I lost it during fiddling. Probably the latter.

I had to order one from a U.K. retailer, so I'm sure I'll have this bike up and running in like 8 weeks.

It actually still works without it, but jiggles in every gear.
