Folks, I have a Schmidt hub and just got some B&M lights from Germany. I didn't order the Schmidt spade connectors. Can anyone tell me what is that I need/where I can get them short of placing another order or going to the LBS (I am in Portland so that helps--they might be available at, say, Velo Cult, or from a framebuilder).

I'm hopeful there's a product I can nab at Home Depot. Tips? Ideas?

Zanks!

Velo Lumino (http://www.velolumino.com/installation-hardware22.html) sells them. Could likely find something that would work at Radio Shack. 4.8mm spade connector.

Looks like something a NAPA auto parts store would sell.

I have used some pretty standard automotive spade connectors with excellent results.

Yeah, it really doesn't have to be a perfect fit. Just solder the connector, tighten the spade a little and push it on.

559Rando, I purchased some from ebay a long time ago. I think I got 50 or so. It's not from Schmidt, but they worked just fine. I'll send you a few. Just send me your address. I'll never use them all, or even close.

Many B&M lights use 2.8mm spade connectors

2.8mm female spade:

Just as a note: one thing I found was the standard sized spade connectors were slightly too large. I could push them together (while connected to the SON hub) and they would make contact. I suppose you could use electrical tape or heat shrink to keep that from happening, but I wanted a perfect fit, so I ended up buying proper metric sized connectors. Not too expensive when buying in bulk.

And if you don't want to solder, I suggest getting a crimp tool. I think I found mine at Home Depot.
