I am from Chicagoland, but left in '86
In 1969 I was at Wrigley in September when they folded to the charging "miracle Mets."
So much heartbreak for soooo long.
Let us all now bow our heads and pray to the baseball gods for a true miracle.
The Cubs winning the World Series will herald the apocalype.
Apocalypse NOW:hello:

I hate the Dodgers
I really hate the Dodgers
Did I mention I hate the Dodgers?

Sox fan here, but unlike most White Sox fans, I have been thoroughly enjoying watching the Cubs rebuild over the last few years, and this run this year has been great entertainment. I'm having a ton of fun watching this season.

Javy Baez has been my favorite athlete in sports to watch all year, and now the rest of the country is getting initiated to the Javier Baez Show.

Win or lose this year (and they are by far the best team in baseball), they are set up for a run like the Blackhawks and are built for the long haul. It's not if, but when, and then how many.

Left Chicago at 3 & have been Red Sox fan forever-but now that I have lived to see the Red Sox win a WS-in fact 3 now- I am rooting for the Cubbies. As an aside, the Indians are my second choice-Go Tito.

I am now a Cubs fan because:

1. They beat the Giants.
2 They made those "beliEVEN" T shirts move to the clearance rack.
3. Ernie Banks and Ron Santo were a couple of my favorite players as a kid before losing interest in the sport.

They lost me at Free Agency. Before that you pretty much knew the lineup every year. Can't forget Billy Williams, Kessinger Beckert and Fergie Jenkins too.
They owe a lot to Madden who is a kept a bike in his office when he was with the Rays. Do they still play Doubleheaders?

Die hard red sox fan now rooting for the Cubs - Sox should have never let Theo Epstein go. Should never have let Lackey go, nor Anthony Rizzo.
Curse of the Bambino has been broken - now time for the curse of the Billy Goat to go!!

More seriously, as long as each series goes 7 games and the baseball is good, I'm happy - I'm not sure who I'm rooting for.

Game 1 of the NLCS was very, very good. All the pitching moves (especially those by the Dodgers in the 8th to load the bases) prove once again how vastly superior the NL is compared to the AL.

My Mets are out so I'll be happy with either for different reasons.

Cubs because they haven't won since the dawn of time.

Dodgers because I went to a game as a kid with relatives and sat in front of Ray Liotta. Yep, my seats were better than his

And I had a Mike Piazza action figure!

Great game last night, great pitching on both sides. Wife and I had pretty good seats, and it was 75 degrees in mid-October. Went to school down the street, been going to Wrigley since I was in diapers. It's still best during the day, but damn if it doesn't look good lit up.

If they got past my Giants and their even-year nonsense devil magic, I'm definitely rooting for them. Go Cubs!

But really, as long as they crush the hated Dodgers, I'll be happy.

With a leftie Rich Hill pitching in Game 3, I am hoping Maddon will bench Heyward, maybe even Russell. Neither of them is hitting.

I don't follow major sports until playoff time and then I'll casually watch... pretty sure the whole team is in a slump from the stats they were throwing up the other night. I was thinking that Tebow got his first hit, Russell and some of the others should be able to too! I'm pulling for the Cubs... it would be a shame for someone to go through their entire life and never see their team win.

The CUBS need a pennant before Bill Murray gets anymore delirious.
They should win it. They have the best manager in the game, they have the best pitchers, the best hitters, they are the team predicted to win it before the season started.
I'm a underdog guy and Cleveland is the underdog.
But I've met people from Cleveland and I've met people from Chicago...
So let's go CUBS!!!! :banana::banana::banana:
